Somerville On-Line Video

SCATV programs available to watch now!

Now you can find all of Somerville's best online community video content in one place! We're pleased to announce mirocommunity.access-scat.org, a site that will collect videos about Somerville. This new community video site will include archived programs from Somerville Community Access Television that have been uploaded online, as well as user-submitted videos by and about our community.

So head over to http://access-scat.mirocommunity.org/ and submit some videos. This site works by embedding videos already on the web, so you can simply copy and paste the URL of videos on YouTube, blip.tv, Vimeo, or other sites (anywhere that lets you embed) into the "Submit a Video" field. Our moderators will review these videos for relevance and appropriateness, then release them to the site if all is good to go. You never know, we might even feature your videos.

We also encourage you to submit videos by other folks that you think would be a good fit for the site - a link back to the original page is always included, so all videos will be attributed to the user that posted them online.

This is a community space, so we encourage you to make it work for you. Check out all we have to offer, start a discussion in the comments, and see if you can find local video to add. Creating a video project for school? Taping a local government event for accountability? Doing interviews at a local festival? Add your videos!

And remember, if you don't yet have any videos to add, you can come check out our facilities and equipment and make some. You never know, you might be the next big viral video hit - or you might get hooked on video production and end up on Channel 3.

Miro Community, the software behind this new video site, is a project of the Participatory Culture Foundation, and is funded in part by the Knight Foundation.
