Organization Membership
Any organization based in Somerville may join SCAT, including a business and Somerville chapter of any state or national organization. The campaign of any political candidate running in Somerville may join SCAT as an Organization Member.
An Organization Membership has a $100 fee and includes membership privileges for two representatives of the organization (the primary and secondary contacts for the group). Additional individuals from the organization may then join by paying additional a $40 fee. Organization Members may use SCAT’s resources only to produce programs related to their organization. Programs may not be used for commercial purposes.
Representatives of the organization are entitled to enroll in video production classes; may become certified to enjoy free use of the production facilities in order to make programs for their organization to be cablecast on Channel 3; receive SCAT's quarterly newsletter; receive technical assistance for program creation and promotion; exercise voting privileges at annual meetings; and are eligible for election as a Member Representative on the SCAT Board of Directors.
As a community media center, SCAT serves as a resource to help Somerville non-profit organizations and agencies use media to further their missions. Special video and web services.
Organization Members must fulfill the following:
- Attend an Orientation Session
- Sign and submit a membership form agreeing to abide by SCAT's Policies and Regulations
- Pay the organization membership fee of $100.
- Show proof of organization affiliation (i.e. official letter) and positive photo ID
