Animation Studio to begin on January 24

This working group will be exploring and practicing all forms of animated imagery, from  stop-motion clay and paper cutout techniques to 2D and 3D digital approaches. Want to try mixing paper cutouts and digital explosions? Why not?

The first session will start with a short presentation by professional animator and SCATV member  Len White on the myriad of animation techniques available. How does claymation work? What software can you use to do 3D animation? Is Flash the best program for 2D digital animation? Following this intro, attendees will discuss their interests and goals and form project plans. At least one group project will be developed in this first meeting that will be open to any eager animator that wants to contribute.

The following three sessions will be creative working groups in which members bring their materials or use those on hand.

If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at animation or get a little nudge from like-minded creatives to start or continue that project you’ve had sitting around untouched for months or years, join the Animation Studio at SCATV.
The Animation Studio will initially meet for four sessions on Tuesdays, 7-9pm, beginning on January 24, with the option to continue.

This is a free working group but registration is required. Open to SCATV
members and non-members.  Call 617-628-8826 to register.
