The SCAT Gallery
SCAT proudly supports the Somerville arts community.
The SCAT gallery features monthly exhibits by local artists. The exhibiting artist is also featured on Art@SCAT, a talk show that is produced by SCAT staff and hosted by SCAT Gallery curator Janet Cormier. SCAT also participates in community arts events such as ArtBeat, Honk Fest, the Windows Art Project, MUM Dance Party, SSP Somerville, ArtsUnion, and Somerville Open Studios.

February Exhibit: Collages by Jane Sherrill
Jane Sherrill’s exhibit, COLOR IN WINTER will be on exhibit at The SCAT Gallery from February 1 – February 28, 2010. We recommend this show for people who are tired of winter snow, grey skies and cold winds
Jane Sherrill creates freeform, colorful, sculptural collages and paintings out of her Vernon Street Studio. Ms. Sherrill produces her own canvases by ripping paper into new shapes and then gluing them together. Once the glue dries, she paints the paper with acrylic paints and sometimes color pencils. Other times, she creates her canvases by ripping her own paintings and drawings apart and then weaves the pieces together.
Jane Sherrill is an exhibiting artist in Somerville Open Studios. Her work has also been displayed in galleries and shows throughout the Metro Boston area.
