Studio Classes

Basic Studio Production

This class is for members who want to get started producing multi-camera studio programs. In the first two sessions you will learn how to work as a camera operator and floor director in SCAT's three-camera TV studio. The last two sessions will cover the operation of the control room, including the digital switcher, audio board, and Compix graphics. You will also learn the basics of directing in the studio.

Studio Directing

This class for certified Studio Producers covers techniques for directing a crew in the studio. Learn and practice the proper director commands and procedures and how to produce a live-to-tape show.

Intermediate Studio Production

Learn to ensure the quality of your productions using the waveform monitor and vectorscope. Add a fourth camera and fly it on the jib arm. Hook up a computer to show web sites live. Feed various video and graphics sources to a monitor on-set, etc., etc.

Host-Operated Television (HOT) Set

Learn how to host your own live program in our state-of-the-art studio which includes a deck for pre-recorded video, a visual copy stand, and live phone-in lines. One-on-one training is scheduled with a staff person. 

Pre-requisite: 
Series commitment with assigned time slot; discussion with Programming Coordinator
